Writing: Complaining letter

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing with regard to a parking fine.

Last Saturday, I parked my car at 15 Augusto Road near my wife’s office. I thought it was legal, because I have parked at the same place or nearby a lot of times. Nevertheless, ten minutes later when we came back to get the car, we saw a paper on the windscreen which turned out to be a parking fine.

We were very surprised and the first we did was looking for a no-parking sign. We spent some time to find it, because no-parking sign was behind a tree. Besides that, a neighbor told us that the no-parking sign had just been installed.  

I have already pursued this matter with the local police, but they were quite rude and suggested that I write to you. In order to resolve this matter I am requesting that you cancel the parking fine and order no-parking sign to be installed in a location where it can be easily seen.

Please contact me within ten days of the date of this letter to confirm that these steps have been taken.

An e-mail

A new execise, I have to write an informal e-mail. I hope you will like:

Hi John,

I hope you will be fine. I am writing you quickly, because, as you know, I have just arrived to Valencia and I am still unpacking the stuff. Was great you to come to my birthday at my mother´s home, I know you have many duties.

I phoned to your friend Paul, and he helped me to find a room. It was a bit difficult, because I do not have any money, but he helped me a lot and allowed me to stay at his home while I was looking for. He and his family are really generous.

My new roommate is from Germany. He looks like a real German, you know, he is blond, very tall, blue eyes, and the best is that he knows many German Women. I think we'll get along.

Tomorrow will be my first day in my new job, I am little nervous, but I am decided to impress them. I need a bit of good luck.

Must go now as it's time to sleep. Your house is now in Valencia.
